Armory Management & Weapons Accountability System RFID Radio Frequency technology is the state-of-the-art in weapons
tracking, and is achieved by placing special RFID tags within or on
weapons and the other gear and accessories issued by an Armory. Staff
can also be identified by using RFID name badges issued to each person
with authorization to enter the Armory and/or receive weapons/items (or
RFID labels can be placed on existing name badges/name badge holders).
The RFID tag # is linked to the Weapon or Item Serial #. RFID antennas
and motion sensors can be placed around Armory issue-windows and/or
doorways to RFID-Read each person and item(s) passing into or out of
the Armory, without requiring human effort.
The person and item tags are read passively and automatically. Motion
sensors establish directionality (In or Out) and the RFID antennas read
all items and people, updates the ARMS database and also logs the time
and the date of the transaction. Sirens, alarms, lights or more dvanced
Access Control & Surveillance Systems can be connected to the RDID
reader/antenna.
Inventory Made Easy
Portable RFID Readers are typically used to rapidly inventory weapons
and other gear, which uploads to the database and automatically generates
inventory reports and inventory exceptions reports. All RFID-reads update
the appropriate records in the database, and also updates the transaction
history (audit trail) associated with each item.
ARMS is currently configured to model individual weapons, groups of
weapons, weapons cleanings, weapons inspections, weapons maintenance,
weapons certifications and events (shooting range scores, etc.) and
officers/people.
